Like most other people on Earth, I've been around music my entire life. When I was a baby, my parents would sing to me. When I was a kid, my class and I tortured the music teacher with our recorder playing at school, and at home I had access to an impressive collection of vinyl records and CDs. I still remember the first time I chose a CD to play on the family stereo. It was Yellow Submarine by The Beatles, and to this day the Beatles are still my favourite band. Around that time, I was gifted my very first personal CDs (they were Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and his 1812 overture since he was my favourite composer at the time). Now that I had my CDs and a handy boombox, it was me and my music against the world.
I don't use that boombox anymore, since it sadly stopped working properly, but I still love music just as much as I did back then. My personal collection has slowly grown, now including a modest selection of vinyls, and I've become a musician myself, though I don't practice as much as I should.
All of this to say that music has always been an important part of my life. It gave me a community when I was a shy year 7 just starting off at high school, and now it gives me moral support as I procrastinate on my 2000 word assignments. On this page, I'll do my best to articulate my thoughts on different aspects of music, as well as share my taste in music!
